Building Resilience and Solidarity: Annual Report 2023
As our community faces growing marginalization, the denial of human rights, discriminatory legislation, restricted access to healthcare, and criminalization for simply being who we are, the need for a strong organization to support global trans movements in the most marginalized regions is more critical than ever. The ITF plays a vital role in this mission.
The ITF operates as a global community-based participatory fund, with trans voices at the core of our decision-making and governance processes. We are dedicated to fostering strong leadership within the organization, thereby strengthening global trans communities. Once again, the ITF has successfully increased our grantmaking, provided ongoing support, and extended our reach to more vulnerable groups worldwide.
We are thrilled to share a moment of pride and accomplishment with you as we present our Annual Report for 2023. This document encapsulates the collective efforts, successes, and milestones that have defined our journey throughout the year. 2023 marked the seventh year of the ITF’s existence, and we are excited to continue building on our achievements.

With lots of hope, joy and a labour of love, our 2019 Annual Report takes you on a “Journey into the FRIDAverse of Change”.
G7 Global Objectives on Girls Education
United Nations Girls Education Initiative

Under the UK’s 2021 G7 Presidency, G7 endorsement was secured, to two global girls' education access and learning objectives, intended to be milestone targets to SDG4. The G7 called on the rest of the international community to rally behind them: 40 million more girls in school; and 20 million more girls reading by age 10 or the end of primary school, in low and lower middle-income countries, by 2026.
The UK committed to producing an annual progress report against the two global objectives. The report aims to supplement the efforts of the G7 Accountability Working Group, which monitors progress against G7 commitments by presenting evidence on low- and lower-middle-income countries’ progress in achieving the two global objectives and highlighting what remains to be done.

In December 2019, APTN hosted a regional partnership meeting that examined the current state of transgender affairs, from health, to human rights, to policies, and discover models and strategies for advancing where we are, to where we want to be, leading to collective building.
This toolkit is a report and manual intended to be an easy-to-use guide for trans or gender and sexual diverse community organisations to:
Learn about the experiences of trans communities across the Asia and Pacific Region.
Utilise the tools shown here within your own workshops or meetings.
This guide includes “Try it Out” sections with step-by-step instructions, as well as “Journal It” or “Draw It” sections to reflect upon your own experiences as a trans activist.
Additionally, this guide can be used by non-trans organisations to learn about the experiences of the trans communities and your trans colleagues. We hope that this tool can further inspire you in your work with the trans communities in the diverse spaces your organising is in.

Annual Report 2022

We are thrilled to share a moment of pride and accomplishment with you as we present our Annual Report for 2021-2022. This document encapsulates the collective efforts, successes, and milestones that have defined our journey throughout the year. 2022 marked the sixth year of the ITF’s existence. Over six grant cycles, we allocated $5,031,500 to 159 trans-led organizations in 88 countries.
Our commitment to participatory grantmaking places accountability, transparency and participation at the center of everything we do. We strive to embody the ethos of “nothing about us without us” in all aspects of our work, which means that trans people are in leadership and decision-making roles across the ITF. The ITF is the only global participatory grantmaker that is exclusively dedicated to supporting trans-led groups to secure the rights and improve the lived realities of trans people.
This third Annual Report covers the period between July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022. We chose to make this Annual Report cover 1.5 years in order to align it with our fiscal year as a newly incorporated entity.
